Neodymium Iron Boron is the strongest commercial magnet material currently produced. Dura Magnetics can supply Neodymium Magnets in stock shapes and sizes including discs, rings, and blocks, custom, made-to-order Neodymium Magnets, or we can assist in developing a solution specifically for your application.
Available Grades of Neo:
Many grades of Neodymium exist to support a variety of industrial and commercial applications. The range of Neo grades is typically 33 to 52 MEOe. These ranges allow for balancing cost, magnetic performance, and operational temperature resistance.
Corrosion Resistance:
Neodymium magnets have poor resistance to corrosion and they can also corrode from the inside out if proper pre-treatment processes are not followed. Oftentimes a multi-layer Nickel-Copper-Nickel plating is applied, but this may not be sufficient for all applications.
Some of our magnets are strong, really strong. If you’ve ever ordered any neodymium magnets from us, or have simply experimented with high powered magnets, you know that once opposite poles attract, it can be tough to separate them. Also, getting in the way of two attracting poles is dangerous and could result in broken glass or bones.
When using strong magnets it is important to follow safety rules and tips. Below are some tips that we have compiled for separating strong magnets.
Plastic Divider
Our magnet sets often come with plastic dividers that make separation easier. We would recommend keeping these handy to provide a buffer between magnets when they are not in use.
